Well, it’s come to this: the $7.99 bottle of booze. For just under $8, we got 750mL of brown-colored booze flavored like whiskey in a plastic travel-ready bottle. Pretty sweet deal, eh?
I couldn’t help but read the name as “High Ten” instead of “Ten High” — it just makes more sense that way. Ten High? That’s a pretty shitty poker hand. High Ten? Now that just sounds delicious. From their website:
[Ten High Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is a] quality sour mash whiskey that maintains a wealth of tradition and craftsmanship. Ten High is carefully distilled, and matured in white oak barrels, to create a smooth, distinctive bourbon.
Maybe a bit strongly worded, but it certainly wasn’t bad. The best way to drink it is with a little lime and some ice. The lime makes it a bit more complex. The ice cools down the flavor a bit. It’s not bad straight-up, but it’s certainly not something I’d equate with a pleasurable experience. But drinking it with ice and lime and looking out over the foothills of Tucson’s Mount Lemmon? Now that’s wonderful.
