Catalina Island in January?
Our original plan was to spend the winter in Florida and camp for a bit on Key West. That is not going to work out, so we’ve been brainstorming alternatives. Now we’re thinking Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles. The camping is cheaper, but we’ll need to take an expensive ferry ride to get there.
They have tent camping outside Avalon at Hermit’s Gluch. They have a grocery store. They have a library with Internet. We’ll have to ditch the van for a few days, but this could work. But it could be rough if its cold and/or rainy. We’ll need to do some weather research.
