Three Needs: The Best Bar In Vermont?
So, yeah, it’s a good bar. It’s got a great selection of beers on tap, you can borrow playing cards from the bar and play poker at the tables, you can read a textbook here if you’re a student, or do Sudoku and have a pint if you’re retired. And you can watch seemingly endless episodes of The Simpsons on the TV above the bar or play a game of pool in the back or chat with your neighbor. But is Three Needs the BEST bar in Vermont … is it worthy of Esquire’s praise … is it … good enough?
Maybe. I’ve only been to a handful of bars in Vermont, so what do I know? I think the floor speaks for the entire bar. It’s been around a while. It’s seem some stuff. There’s been beer spilled on it, maybe blood too — it’s exactly like the floor should look in a great bar.
But what I’m really concerned with is what are the three needs? It’s a bar, so I assume one it’s booze. And with The Simpsons gear, that seems to be another. And the third then is … Detroit hockey? I’m not sure. I’ll remember to ask next time I’m there.
