Live Free Or Die Driving In New Hampshire

New Hampshire is appealing to me mostly because of the great state motto — live free or die.  And the taxes.  Low taxes seem important when you have a 9-5 job, but are likely not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

New Hampshire has another thing going for it though — beautiful interstates.  Normally, driving along the interstate system is a monotonous experience, but in New Hampshire it’s wonderful for two reasons: 1) the trees creep closer to the road than any other state seems to allow, 2) the exposed moss-covered bedrock along the roadside is beautiful.  Of course, both of these beautiful features are tremendously convenient options for those looking to spin out of control and wrap their cars around something big and unmoving.  Dead man’s curve, all of them.

Regardless, it’s wonderful.  Driving is enjoyable when surrounded by beauty.  If you spend your days surrounded by monotony and guardrails, you may be dead already anyway.
