Ultra-local papers are the best. They are a window into the soul of a town and its residents. This dispatch comes from The Weekly Crust of Terre Haute, IN. We grabbed a copy while eating at Wise Pies Pizza & Subs (it’s their paper).
Rocky Wants a Slate Oven Too
Wise Pies now has a slate oven equipped pizza truck. The first outing was during Terre Haute’s Blues Fest. One of their next stops will be the Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race. Sounds like a delicious idea, but I don’t think an oven will fit in our van, Rocky.
Lao Tzu Saw Us Coming
The Weekly Crust included a quote from Tzu: “A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.”
Poochie Wants Pumpkin
Pumpkin is a good source of vitamin A and roughage. Feed it to your dog by replacing 1/3 of their normal food with pumpkin. If you do this, let us know how it goes.
Wash Those Hands!
The Vigo County Health Department reminds you to wash your hands when dealing with food, garbage, and / or poo. Or any combination of the three, really.
That’s it from Terre Haute. If you’re in the area, Wise Pies makes some pretty great New York style pizza — definitely worth a visit.
